Day Two:
Another long day, we left from the beautiful Crown Plaza Hotel in Nashua, NH and ended day in Hartford, CT. The group rode to Wales, MA before being bused into Hartford. Lots and lots of hills - more than I expected. Total mileage just shy of a 100 miles....but I could only complete little more than 40 miles. I am beginning to think the yoga classes, though were relaxing, did not do much to build the necessary endurance needed for 100 miles/day on a bike. Nathan quipped "you don't study algebra when you have a history test".
Again it was warm and sunny couldn't have nicer weather!
We made good time on the route in fact for the first time in the ride's history we were on schedule! The riders are strong and determined to ride each and every mile. The dedication is amazing and the stories of the riders even more so.
The support staff is few but they do an outstanding job of making sure we have plenty of water and the food on the course. We couldn't ride without their hard work...thank you to our wingmen/women.
The rescue squads that have sponsored rest stops and lunches have been wonderful and their hospitality is greatly appreciated!
